Why Does Your TikTok Only Have 0 Views?

TikTok Marketing: Why Does Your TikTok Only Have 0 Views?

If your video has 0 views on TikTok, it can feel very disheartening. Especially if you spent your time being so thoughtful about the content and so hopeful about the results.

We want you to know that we get it! Which is why we chose this topic to write about in our blog of the week. We are going to give you our advice and some much-needed inspiration to help motivate you and keep you creating your fabulous videos!

And to help you start to increase your following, your reach, and your It can feel very discouraging if your videos that you've been so thoughtful and hopeful about don't garner the amount of views you would have liked.

The Answer

Different people making their own TikTok Videos

There are a few reasons why your views might be low. Here is a list of possibilities:

  • You're new to the platform. This isn't a bad thing! Everyone is new at some point. But it does mean that you don't have an engaged following at the moment, which is why you’re getting no views on TikTok. Our advice for anyone in this position is to keep making videos and to remain patient.

  • Your content isn't resonating. TikTok is a new platform, so it might take you a while to realize how different it is from other social media platforms. Our advice for anyone in this position is to take some time to explore the platform and get familiar with the community. You will find that this audience desires true authenticity, humor, and entertainment. In other words, show less of your professional side and more of your personal side.

  • You just need to give it a few hours. This has happened a couple of times when I'm posting videos on my personal account. I click "publish,” check it a few minutes later and get so confused because my TikTok has 0 views. However, the next day I see the views start to climb. And for some reason, these videos always become my most popular. This just goes to show you that you should never delete a video even if it's not performing well.

If I was to sum up my advice for all these reasons, I would say: research, research, research, and then post, post, post! Even if you don't become a TikTok star, you will find your supportive community - and that's what truly matters.

9 TikTok Tips To Give Yourself An Engagement Boost

Tips and people using the TikTok platform.

1. Use Creative Filters and Effects.

Look especially at the new filters that TikTok creates. We have noticed that whenever a new filter or effect is launched (like a TikTok voice effect or TikTok sound effects), the platform gives whatever video that utilizes it a little boost in the algorithm.

2. Film Yourself in Different Locations

Something you may have noticed about TikTok is that everything is fast moving. Something that was a trend last week is considered obsolete and obnoxious in the next. So finding ways to keep your content fresh and interesting will ensure that your audience doesn't experience fatigue with your videos.

3. Incorporate Trendy Topics and Challenges Into Your Videos

This piggybacks off of our earlier advice to spend some time on the platform and to get familiar with the content that people like. People on TikTok love to participate and watch trends, so catering to that desire can do a lot for your video views!

4. Just Be Yourself – Be Genuine and Authentic

We had to repeat this tip because it is so, so important. What has separated TikTok from all the other platforms is that the audience not only prefers authentic content, they also demand it. If a video seems to polished and industrial, they're going to skip it. Just be real! Shake off your nerves, record yourself wherever you are (in your car, on a walk, at the park, in your living room... etc.), don't cut out the parts where you stutter or stumble over your words, and hit "publish."

5. Use Humor – Make People Laugh!

You don't have to be a stand up comedian to have humor! We all have things that we find funny, so just reveal that side of you to your TikTok audience. For example, you can tell relatable jokes about your work day and what it's like to be a business owner.

6. Make Creative Content – Think Outside The Box

We mentioned that trends are popular, but you also want to stand out from everyone else participating in the trend. Our advice is to give a fun twist to that trend. A good example of how to do this is to see the TikTok's that our Communications Director Kat makes for our business. She uses trending sounds, but finds ways to relate them to our business.

P.S. If you happen to watch her videos, give her a like and hit the follow button!

7. Collaborate With Other TikTok Users

You can collaborate with others in the TikTok world a couple of ways:

  • Do a video stitch. Add your own commentary or to answer whatever question they presented.

  • Duet their video so you can react visually to their content.

  • Ask them to do a video with you.

This allows you to reach their community and their audience. And if they like what you have to say, they will become your community, too!

8. Use Music to Enhance Your Videos

Music is such a great tool that TikTok provides its users, so we really do encourage everyone to use it. You can find music organically by scrolling through the platform and adding songs that you like to your Favorite Music list.

9. Keep Your Videos Short and Sweet!

This will increase your replays and ensure that people don't get bored before your video finishes. I would say to stay below the 15 seconds mark - which might seem short, but just think about your TikTok as your bite-sized info platform, rather than a place to throw a bunch of information.
