30 Day Challenge: Spice Up Your Social Media Content

30 Day Challenge: Spice Up Your Social Media Content

Are you feeling a little uninspired when it comes to your social media content? Are you looking for new and interesting ways to engage your followers? Well, look no further! The 31 Day Challenge is here to help. So let's get started on this month of fun and interesting posts!

Day One: Share A Selfie

Let's start with the basics - with a twist! Selfies are one of the most popular posts to put out on social media platforms like Instagram, but how do we make them more engaging? One way is to create a selfie-sharing challenge.

Let your followers know that whoever posts a selfie with one of your products (or if they take a selfie while they enjoy one of your services) will have their content shared onto your page.

Note: to ensure that you see all the selfies, make a hashtag that you can track like #MYBUSINESSselfiechallenge

Day Two: Create An Inspirational Quote Post

This is a very simple post but it provides so much to your followers. An inspirational quote will let them know a lot about you and what your goals are, while also lighting a healthy fire under them to help them achieve their own goals.

You can take this post a step further by asking your followers to share their favorite inspirational quotes.

Day Three: Share A Throwback Photo

A throwback for your business can be so fun, and can also show everyone how far you've come - with their support! Choose an old photo from your archives; it can be anything from the moment that you got your first office or made your first product or met your first customer. Whatever makes you sit back and think: Wow! I've really accomplished so much since then.

Day Four: Try A Different Platform

Mix up your social media by trying out a new platform, or posting on a platform that you often neglect. Whether it's Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, or something else entirely, explore the options and see which one works best for you.

Tip: your first post can be a repost from your favorite platform.

Day Five: Post Something Unexpected

Surprise your followers by posting something unexpected. This could be anything from a funny meme to an off-the-cuff comment. Be creative and have fun!

Example: We posted a video of a donkey that Jamie saw during his Ireland trip. This video actually reached so many people and became really popular!

Day Six: Share Your Story

Captions are usually very short (and should be since people have gained shorter attention spans), but you can always mix it up by adding longer captions every once in a while! Write a short post about yourself or your business and share it with your followers. This is a great way to let people get to know you a little better.

Day Seven: Ask An Open-Ended Question

Post a thought-provoking question on your social media and ask for opinions. This is a great way to get people talking and engage in meaningful conversations.

Ideas:

  • Ask for people's opinion on industry news.

  • Is something often debated in your industry?

  • Ask people about a product or service idea that you've been considering.

Day Eight: Share Your Talents

Showcase your talents by creating an original post or video. This can be anything from a tutorial to a piece of art. Jamie posted a video of himself break dancing! Whatever your talent is, we would like to see it!

Day Nine: Take Part In A Conversation

Find conversations that are relevant to your industry and join in. Let people know what you think, what your professional opinion is, and make sure to engage with others as well (commenting under other people's posts).

Day Ten: Start A Poll

Mixing up your post type is also another great way to spice up your content. We know from experience that our followers love to engage in polls. It gives people the opportunity to share their opinions with little effort, and also anonymously since our other followers won't see what they voted for.

Day Eleven: Go LIVE

Go LIVE on social media and talk directly to your followers. You can use this time to introduce new products or services, answer questions, or just have a casual chat. And don't worry, LIVEs don't have to be long! Your LIVE can be as short as 5 minutes.

Day Twelve: Share Some Behind-The-Scenes Content

Let your followers in on the process behind creating your content or creatives your products/services. Share some behind-the-scenes photos and videos to give them an exclusive look at what you're working on.

Day Thirteen: Host A Q&A Session

Post a Q&A session on your social media and invite your followers to ask you questions. You can use this time to answer any questions they may have about your industry, your business, or even yourself!

Day Fourteen: Post A Fun Fact

People love fun facts. Sometimes you can post a fun fact that not many people know about, and people will enjoy it because they just learned something interesting. Other times you can post a fun fact that more people did know about, and people will enjoy it because it gives them an excuse to talk about something they've always found interesting.

Either way, it's a conversation starter!

Day Fifteen: Create A Video

From our experience working with our clients, we've learned that creating videos can be very intimidating for some business owners. But there is nothing to worry about! Your video doesn't have to be super professional or super long. You just have to hold your phone steady at a vertical angle and press the "play" button.

Video Ideas:

  • A How To

  • Product Demos

  • Industry Tips and Tricks

  • Workspace Tour

Day Sixteen: Repost Something

As you're scrolling through your feed, find a post that resonates with you and repost it on your own social media. Make sure you give the original creator credit! This is a great way to show support for other creators and get their content in front of more eyes, but it also offers variety on your own page.

Day Seventeen: Play A Game

Start an interactive game with your followers. This could be a game of trivia, it can be a game of charades... etc. Just make sure you're having fun!

Day Eighteen: Collaborate With Another User

Reach our to another user in your industry and see if they'd be interested in collaborating. You can create something original together or simply share each other's content.

Day Nineteen: Post Something Uplifting

Positivity does well on social media. Post a celebratory post about someone else's success; highlight the good things in life; show yourself donating... etc. These things are sure to make an impact.

Day Twenty: Show Gratitude

Take a moment to show appreciation for your followers. We find these posts so important to make every once in a while. A simple "thank you" can go a long way!

Day Twenty-One: Participate In A Hashtag

Find hashtags that are relevant to your industry and join in on the conversation. This will help your content get seen by more people, will help you build authority in your industry, and will help you build relationships with other users.

Day Twenty-Two: Post An Infographic

Post an infographic or fun data visualization on social media. People love visuals, and this is also an easy way to show off your knowledge in an interesting way.

Day Twenty-Three: Start A Series

Start an original series of posts to keep people engaged. Have fun with this! It can be a series of short videos, it can be a series of long videos, it can be a series of posts with long captions, an in-depth article series... etc.

Day Twenty-Four: Share Your Best Work

This could be anything. Maybe it's a blog article that you wrote a while ago and are still proud of OR maybe it's an innovative product that you developed. Whatever you created that you're proud of - use this day to show off!

Twenty-Five: Do A Giveaway

Giveaway time! You've already said that you appreciate your followers, now it's time to show it! Give a free product or a discount on services so you can get more people interested in what you have to offer.

Twenty-Six: Showcase Your Team

Remind everyone that you have a team behind you and that you appreciate their work! Share photos of the team behind your business or behind your content. People love getting to know the faces behind their favorite brands!

Twenty-Seven: Share Words Of Wisdom

Have advice that you'd like to share with your followers? Now is the time! This advice can be either professional or personal, just make sure that it's relevant!

Twenty-Eight: Celebrate Your Accomplishments

Take some time to reflect on the progress you've made throughout the month. Celebrate all of your accomplishments and give yourself a pat on the back!

Twenty-Nine: Post An Explanation Video

Post a video explaining something related to your industry or something related to your business. People are always interested in learning more, and this is an easy way to provide that.

Thirty: Start Your Own Challenge!

Now that you've completed this thirty day challenge, you can start your own! This could be an educational challenge, a fitness challenge... etc. Whatever your industry focuses on and whatever you think your followers will find interesting.

In Conclusion

Writing content can be intimidating, but it doesn't have to be. By breaking down the process into smaller chunks, like these thirty-one days of social media content, you can make progress towards your goals one step at a time. So don't be afraid to get creative and have some fun – your followers will thank you for it! Good luck!
